In October 1970 I went to a prayer meeting with 8 young people I had just met a month earlier. Little did I know that prayer meeting would lead to some of the most memorable years of my life. A simple prayer lifted for another young person facing life and death in the East Jefferson Hospital, Metairie, Louisiana, brought the presence of God into our midst and answered the prayers of a small group of young people. Prayer works, and prayer is God's communication link with all people. Although some believe God only hears the prayers of His believers, I believe God hears the prayers of all His created beings. It is His desire that we bring our burdens and cares to Him because He cares for and about us. Little did I know what results would come as a result of that prayer meeting almost 38 years ago.
